Gina Kuschke creates abstract works guided by impulse, gesture and movement. Often working on a large scale, she works jointly through the physical space of painting and the experience of her environment and the landscape. Multi-layered and textured, Kuschke treats the surface of her compositions as a field of improvisation and excavation revealing forms and structures throughout the multiple iterations of her mark making.
